Snack Bar Attendant
Niagara University, a private Catholic university sponsored by the Vincentian Community seeks a Snack Bar Attendant (full time seasonal position) who under routine supervision, maintains a successful snack bar.

* Operates cash register and processes customer payments;
* Makes sure customers are waited on efficiently and to their satisfaction;
* Prepares food for customers;
* Assists with ordering of merchandise and inventory control;
* Answers phones, takes messages. Answers routine questions and refers others to appropriate person;
* Supervises restocking of snack bar;
* Cleans general concession area: sweeping, mopping, emptying garbage, wiping tables and counters;
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma preferred or any combination of education equivalent to graduate form high school or other combination of education, training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities;
* A minimum of one year experience performing similar tasks.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to read and comprehend the English language sufficiently to be able to read and understand various forms, documentation, files and information in the department.
2. Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to be able to verify accuracy of purchase order items and cost of snack bar items and to make change.
3. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle various office machines including but not limited to: typewriter and/or computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, cash register, copy machine and fax.
4. Ability to receive telephone calls, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone with or without reasonable accommodations.
5. Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
6. Knowledge of basic food preparation methods.
7. Ability to use a cash register.
8. Knowledge of customer service techniques.
9. Ability to handle large volumes of customers efficiently, quickly and courteously.
10. Ability to work non-traditional business hours including weekends.

Start of the pay range is $8.50 per hour.
